Privacy and Data Security/Permission-Based Marketing

Event Technologies complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States. Event Technologies has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. Event Technologies does not collect personal information. Our clients collect personal information from their customers/clients who register for their events and association memberships and provide specific information to us. That data includes: First Name, Last Name, Company Address, Email Address and Phone number. We process this information to facilitate the communication between the opted in exhibitors and attendees of these trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and events. Our clients follow the EU Data Protection act and we provide a mechanism for the recipients to opt-out of these emails at any time.

Individuals have a right to access their personal data. Individuals can contact us to view their personal data and request to remove their personal data permanently via email at sales@event-techs.com, or via phone at 310-581-3807.

We do not disclose this information to any third parties. In the event that we do pass information to third parties, Event Technologies would comply with the onward transfer liability provisions of Privacy Shield, specifically, Event Technologies has responsibility for the processing of personal information it receives under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Event Technologies shall remain liable under the Principles if its agent processes such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless Event Technologies proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over Event Technologies compliance with the Privacy Shield.

The Privacy Shield provision regarding liability for the actions of agent processors does not apply because Event Technologies will not transfer personal information to third parties.

Event Technologies values its relationship with and the privacy of its visitors and customers and uses commercially available technology to safeguard personal information collected through the Sites. Please read Event Technologies’ Anti-Spam Statement and acceptable User Conduct below with which you must comply. Nevertheless, the internet is an open medium and no data transmission through the internet is completely secure. Event Technologies cannot guaranty or warranty the security of your transmission and therefore you transmit information of any nature or sort at your own risk. Once received, your personal information is stored in Event Technologies’ secure database in the United States. Event Technologies takes various precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft and misuse as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

Authorized Users/Passwords/User IDs

You are responsible for the safety and security of all user ids, logins, passwords or other security features through which you or your authorized users may access and for all actions taken through the Sites’ security features. An authorized user is anyone, whether an individual or entity, you have authorized to use the Event Technologies Network on your behalf; and to whom you have assigned and issued unique passwords and user IDs. It is your responsibility to administer user ID’s and passwords only to authorized users, to preserve the confidentiality of and not share your user IDs and passwords. You are responsible for issuing, administering, updating and ensuring that proper security measures are in effect with respect to all passwords and user IDs for your authorized users. You are also responsible for monitoring, supervising and terminating, when appropriate, access to your Event Technologies account by your authorized users. You should keep full and accurate records of all issued, active and inactive passwords and user IDs. The right to use passwords or user IDs terminates immediately upon the earlier of termination of these Terms of Use or an authorized user’s authorization. The use of passwords and user IDs constitutes your acts and Event Technologies may rely upon the instructions, consent given and all action taken, without verifying the identity or authority of any person accessing your online Event Technologies account through use of your passwords and user IDs. Although each authorized user is personally responsible for its actions, you are responsible for ensuring that each authorized user is aware of and complies with these Terms of Use. You are responsible for the acts and omissions of your authorized users. It is also your responsibility to notify Event Technologies immediately when you need to terminate an individual’s access. You are responsible for the actions of each individual to whom you have given access. If you share your login, password or other security features provided to you by Event Technologies with anyone, you are responsible for that individual’s actions, including all Orders placed. Event Technologies is not obligated to verify or confirm the identity of anyone using valid client ids, logins, passwords or other security features assigned by you to your users.

Information Collected

In general, you may visit the Sites without telling Event Technologies who you are or revealing personal information about yourself. Information Event Technologies collects without your specific consent is anonymous and cannot identify you. For example, Event Technologies, its business partners and other companies providing Services to or on behalf of Event Technologies (such as, for example, companies assisting with the operation or features of the Sites, advertising and promotional campaigns, surveys, contests and the like) may use various technologies (such as cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, click-through URL links) to collect non-personally identifiable information discernable as a result of your visit. This may include, without limitation, your IP address, web pages requested or viewed, date, time and domain type, demographic information and responses to surveys, promotions and advertisements. Information gleaned from your browser is automatically received and recorded on server logs. As technology evolves, information may be gathered through other means as well. You may set your browser either to notify you when you receive a cookie or to refuse to accept cookies. However, if you do so you may not be able to participate in certain of the Sites’ features.

Personal information is information collected from a variety of sources in any form that personally identifies you, such as your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number, in conjunction with additional information that may not be otherwise publicly available, such as professional, employment, and health, financial or demographic information. Credit card information may be collection in connection with any order you place. You may provide personally identifiable information directly; it may be gleaned through the Sites or collected from other sources. For example, when you register on the Sites, you create a personal profile providing your name, telephone, email address and in some cases your mailing address or credit card information and choose a password for security. The Sites save your information so that the next time you log on, you only need to enter your unique id and password. Your credit card information will only be retained as long as necessary to fulfill any orders to completion unless you choose to charge recurring fees to your credit card, in which event it will be retained for the term of your order. You cannot communicate with Event Technologies through the Contact us or customer support links on the Site, via email or telephone without providing personally identifiable information. If you contact Event Technologies or its service providers, a record of that session or correspondence will be maintained. Personally identifiable information you voluntarily provide is collected and stored to enable you, both as an Event attendee and Exhibitor, to manage your Event participation, to use the Services, provide Events notification, receive technical and other support services, respond to questions, receive Event Technologies’ eNewsletters and/or emails, identify products or services that may be of interest to you based upon your previous selections and for other marketing and administrative purposes such as surveys for research purposes or other promotions. Additionally, Event Technologies may be affiliated with other companies with whom it may share information collected through their respective websites.

Information Use/Sharing

Event Technologies uses information collected to administer the Sites, provide the Services, assist in diagnosing problems, tracking browsers, all of which assists it in better understanding how the Sites are used. Event Technologies may use any non-personal information gained through or gleaned from the Sites for any legal purpose, including for purposes of developing, using and making available to third parties (at no charge or for a fee) aggregated information, such as regarding trends, services, security/privacy patterns and research, internal record keeping and reporting, measuring and reporting learning, performance and other statistical information concerning any aspect of the Sites. If you do provide us with your personally identifiable information, Event Technologies will use it only for the purpose for which it is collected in compliance with its Anti-Spam Statement unless you consent to a broader use. Event Technologies will not trade, sell or share your personal information with third party marketers without your consent (i.e., opting-in) unless required by law, national security, court order, subpoena, warrant, legal etc. or as disclosed to you as provided in these Terms of Use or when the information is collected.

Event Technologies uses personal information you provide in a number of ways. When you register, you create a member profile that enables you to choose to interact with Event Technologies in a variety of ways, including receiving emails and text messages. You may, at any time, limit your interactions, for example, by updating your member profile. Please note that you may continue to receive messages for a short time until Event Technologies’ records are updated. Various types of personal information is required to provide the Services, fulfill your requests for products/Services, literature or other information, to provide support or other customer service, product research, answer questions, correct problems with the Sites specific to you, to notify you of new or improved products or product uses, to enlist your participation in email campaigns, surveys, promotions, sweepstakes or contests, to customize Licensed Content, improve customer support services, or conduct research, advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns, to provide anonymous reporting for internal use and to third parties. Information collected from any source may be combined to improve products and services and enable more targeted, tailored communications. It may also be aggregated and made available without identifying you to ascertain trends, products, security/privacy patterns and research, internal record keeping and reporting, measuring and reporting learning, performance and other statistical information concerning any aspect of the Sites.

If Event Technologies were to merge with or be acquired by another company or if it were to cease operations, your information, may be transferred to the surviving or acquiring entity and will then be subject to that entity’s privacy terms which may be different from those of Event Technologies. Your personal information may be disclosed if there is reason to believe that disclosure is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action to enforce any of its rights, including against you or a third party, for nonpayment, violation of any agreement, and to prevent injury to or interference with Event Technologies’ rights or property, the rights or property of other users of the Sites or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Event Technologies may disclose or access account information when Event Technologies believes, in good faith, that disclosure is required by law, national security, court order, subpoena, warrant, legal etc., for administrative and other purposes deemed necessary to maintain, service and improve the Sites and Event Technologies’ Services and to protect its rights or property. By accessing and using the Sites, you agree that information you have provided may be used and disclosed as described above or as these Terms of Use may be modified from time to time.

International Visitors/Users

If you access the Sites outside the United States, your connection is through and to servers located in the United States. Any personal information you provide will be processed and maintained in the United States on Event Technologies’ Sites’ servers and/or other network systems operated by or for Event Technologies’ benefit. If you access the Sites and/or reside outside of the United States, your information may be stored, transmitted and shared in accordance with U.S. data privacy laws which may not be equivalent to those in effect in your country.

To Update Your Information/Unsubscribe

You have choices as to how Event Technologies will communicate with you. The Sites allow you to choose to receive, or stop receiving communications from Event Technologies and to update your registration information. Please note that if you register on a third party website through a link on our Sites or through another registration process, these privacy terms will not apply. You will be subject to the privacy statement of that third party website and you will need to follow the directions set forth on that website to unsubscribe or opt-out of receiving further communications.

Notice to California residents about your California privacy right.

In addition to the other rights described in these Terms of Use, if you reside in California, you have the right to request information regarding the third parties with whom Event Technologies has shared personal information for direct marketing purposes during the past year. You have the right to submit a request to Event Technologies at its designated address and receive the following information within 30 days of its receipt of that request: (1) the types of personal information disclosed to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year, (2) the names and addresses of third parties that received the personal information, and (3) if the nature of a third party’s business cannot be reasonably determined from the third party’s name, examples of its services or services. you are entitled to receive a copy of this information in a standardized format. Information provided will not be specific to you individually. All such requests must be in writing and sent to Event Technologies.

Data Storage

You are solely responsible for back-up of all data, including information contained in your mailing lists, you provide to Event Technologies for its use in the provision of Services. You acknowledge and agree that Event Technologies shall have no liability or obligation to maintain the integrity, back-up or storage of your data. Event Technologies agrees to store your data for a period of thirty (30) days after termination of an order. Thereafter, Event Technologies shall have no obligation to maintain or provide any of your data nor shall it have any liability for destruction of your data upon the expiration of the thirty day period.
